Karma Yoga Mission Statement

The performance of truly selfless actions—actions that benefit all beings—is called Karma Yoga. Karma Yoga is selfless service, or service to others without expectation of personal reward. When we channel energy into a wider sphere, beyond our limited ego's desires, we become a conduit for universal forces of love, which seek to work through us.

The Indiana Yoga Association provides opportunities for IYA members to give, through their talents and interests, to local, state and global communities via the Karma Yoga program.

This forum provides the following Karma Yoga activities:

(1.) Karma Yoga Classes -- Resource network connecting yoga teachers with humanitarian organizations to offer yoga classes. A second purpose is to award teachers providing yoga classes to communities in distress. Do you have a class in mind? Let us know!

(2.) Karma Yoga Credits – Recognition for good Karma Yoga citizens in the Indiana yoga community. Is there someone you know who you would like to nominate? Let us know!

(3.) IYA Karma Yoga Projects -- Projects internal to IYA. We are currently working on a clothes/toy give-away! See the home page for more info!

(4.) IYA Karma Yoga Volunteer - Would you like to volunteer to work on the IYA board? We need your help!

(5.) Philanthropic Matching Funds -- Matching funds for philanthropic fundraising events. Do you have a fundraiser coming up? Let us know, and we can match the funds you raise!
